Today we started the process of replacing all of our driving documents, some of you already know that we managed to 'lose' them prior to our trip to the UK, this has meant that we are unable to drive the car as here we have to carry the documents with us all the time we are on the road.
We have differing theories as to where the old documents are as we had them to park the car here at the flats so it follows that we had to bring them home here. I always put the documents on a small shelf in this room along with the keys and my wallet, we found the wallet and keys to be where I put them but the car docs (in a small red wallet) disappeared. Rose's theory is that I lost them (of course) my theory, and much more likely in my opinion, is that knowing we were going away Rose had taken the docs and put them in a 'safe place' and now is unable to remember where this lovely safe place is, this manoeuvre I have to say is not unusual and not the first time we have been unable to find one of her 'safe places'
Anyway, we had to take a photo of the car before we could proceed as the car documents here have to have a photo of the car in them. They rejected our first effort but accepted the second. We have to go to two local cop shops in order to do the renewal as one only does foreigners driving licences and the other only does the car docs. After completing the usual small forest of paperwork it has all been presented for the renewals, I, being over 60, have to have a medical, now, when I got the licence originally the only medical I had was an eyesight test, so I wait to see what they want this time as I have to go to the local hospital for it.. IF all goes to plan we should be back on the road sometime next week. Fingers crossed.....
